The Difficult Emotions of Grief
Join a café evening on grief in Nuuk.
The evening will focus on the theme of grief’s difficult emotions, but you are also welcome to talk about your grief in other ways.
Grief is painful, and when we lose someone, we may experience emotions we’ve never felt before. Whether you feel anger, denial, relief, guilt, or shame, we all experience grief in our own unique way—no emotion is wrong.
These feelings may raise questions such as:
- “I’ve lost a loved one, but I don’t feel like I’m grieving. Is something wrong with me?”
- “What if I forget important things about the person I’ve lost?”
- “Is it okay if I feel happy again, even though I’ve lost someone?”
The evening will begin with our volunteers sharing their experiences of loss and telling their stories. Coffee will be served, and there will be an opportunity to talk with others who have experienced loss.
